Here we have a list of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies. Similar to the Fortune 1000 list we blogged, this focuses on just the drug companies. This entire industry is an extremely powerful force. They have some of the brightest scientists and researchers in the world. The background and hardwork of these employees discover medications and cures for low and high end diseases. The ethics involved in these companies need to straddle a profit and to helping the public.

What I take issue to is the decision to suppress drugs that can better help the public. Some of these drugs get shelved or the research gets altered. By doing so, drug companies use different compounds that allow a MUCH bigger profit. This profit, coupled with the lobbying financial power they have, all but lets these companies control what comes to market.

With all good there are some bad, and its the bad that is extremely frustrating.
