Island Gym – Egg Harbor NJ
Just like every gym, you have to be scanned in before entering. At Island Fitness, when no one is behind the counter, you need to leave your keys in a bin. The bin reads “If there aren’t any employees when you enter, leave your keys in the bin”. Well, you see, thats where the issue is. My keys got stolen from the bin, and gym felt they had zero responsibility.

Interesting right? So interesting in fact, that I decided to press charges in civil court. Stolen keys, wallet stolen, locks replaced,  etc.  The case was so interesting in fact, that I got contacted by People’s Court. I of course was all for it, Island Gym on the other hand decided not to do it.

We get to civil court, which for people in NJ, did you know you can sue anyone in New Jersey small claims court for just $22 ? (as long as your case is less than $3,000). If both sides show up, the first thing you do is go to mediation (basically a mediator tries to settle the case). The mediator I had was actually pretty good, rather neutral, and tried to present all different sides facts and options.

This is where my hatred towards Island Gym really escalated. They actually brought a picture of the basket with a NEW sign , where they changed the wording of the original sign! To make matters worse, they lied and said this was the sign that was always there. Do you believe this?

When I went to Island Fitness to take a picture of the basket, it of course was no longer there.  The cameras that day weren’t working either. How convenient.

So folks I leave you with these fine points

1. Never ever leave your keys outside your possession when going to a gym.
2. Get any evidence the second it happens, you can always run in to sly gym owners and managers that will swap out signs to make it appear to be truth.. leaving you with no ability to obtain evidence
3. Stay the eff away from Island Gym. If you are looking for gym in South Jersey, I highly recommend these two gyms:

A. Retro Fitness – Brand New and clean. They even have a movie theater where you can be on a treadmill, definitely neat. Furthermore, they only charge $19.99 a month!
B. Tilton Fitness – A much bigger gym, they charge around $55 a month, but you get a gigantic gym here at a great price

Stay the Eff Away from Island Gym

But what about the everyday folk. Well, casinos feel that the everyday person is not for them. They dont gamble, and they wont spend….hmm.. interesting how the casinos can just turn on you. What I noticed though, there are a select few casinos that are opening up their room rates heavily discounted to the every day folk. Good luck finding these deals with all the middle men involved.

I did find one site that is local in AC that caters to heavily discounted deals. They cut out all the middle man and would literally give you a 4 star hotel stay in AC for $9 on the weekend!… Check it out at VacationAC.com

Divorce is as common in the Florida Keys as fresh grouper and cold beer. Census statistics released this week show that Monroe County — which includes the cluster of 1,700 islands floating off South Florida — has the second-highest proportion of divorced residents. A little more than 18 percent of the people living in Monroe County are divorced, second only to Indiana’s Wayne County, which had 19 percent. Nationwide, 10.7 percent of people over 15 are divorced.

Three of the top 10 counties the divorced call home are in Florida — rural Putnam County in Northeast Florida and urban Pinellas County on the Gulf Coast are the other two. Indiana had a total of three counties in the top 10 as well. Along with Wayne County, Floyd and Madison counties made the list.

Newly released census figures show that while the number of unmarried people continued its 10-year climb, the ranks of married people in the United States rose by nearly 6 million last year, bucking a decade-long decline. The number of divorced people rose, but only slightly.

Among the other marriage- and divorce-related findings from the census data:

• The number of unmarried people climbed to about one-third of all Americans over 15.

• Oklahoma has the highest rate of people who have been married three times or more.

• Utah and Idaho tied for the youngest median bride age, at 23.5 years old.

Its no wonder why sites that deal with married and dating are on the rise in popularity, to the point where they now guarantee you a divorce, now thats balls!
